Privacy policy
This is a static information site. It collects very little, and this page explains exactly what.
Who we are
Workshop Basics is an independent information site about home workshops. For privacy questions, email [email protected].
What we do not collect
- There are no user accounts, logins, contact forms, comment sections or newsletters.
- We do not use analytics software, advertising networks, social media plugins or tracking pixels.
- We do not set cookies. See our cookie policy.
Google Fonts
Our pages load typefaces from Google Fonts. When your browser requests these font files, it connects to Google's servers, which receive your IP address and standard browser information as part of that request. This is the only third-party request the site makes. Google's handling of that data is covered by Google's own privacy policy. You can block web fonts in your browser and the site will still work using fallback fonts.
Server logs
Like almost every website, the server that hosts our pages may keep short-term technical logs of requests, including IP address, the page requested, date and time, and browser type. These are used only to keep the site running and secure, are not used to identify or profile visitors, and are deleted on a rolling basis.
When you email us
If you email us, we receive your email address, name if you include it, and whatever you write. We use this only to reply and, if you report an error, to correct the guide. We do not add you to any mailing list or share your details with anyone. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to messages. We keep correspondence for as long as needed to deal with it, normally no more than two years, then delete it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to its use. Email [email protected]. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes
If our practices change, for example if we ever add advertising as described in our advertising disclosure, this page will be updated first.
